Generation Interconnections
Utility planners and regulators alike agree that we need more electric generation capacity in the United States to avoid reliability problems. However, the transmission capacity needed to bring generation to market is also becoming increasingly scarce, as transmission regulation becomes ever more complicated.

Just figuring out who is in charge can sometimes pose a challenge. Interconnection costs can even be so great as to jeopardize an otherwise viable project. We help project developers of all types—utilities, private developers, or large end users—to navigate the complex world of transmission.

We can perform generation interconnection studies, review studies performed by others, and represent project developers before regulators, power pools, ISO’s, and host utilities. As we work for clients who are transmission users, not owners, we can provide unbiased analyses and independent representation.

E-mail Randall Porter or call (612) 252-6526 to see how we can partner with you and help your project succeed.

Example Clients:

  • MMPA
  • University of Connecticut
  • City of Blue Earth, MN
