James D. Larson
James D. (Jim) Larson joined the firm as a principal in 1995. An attorney
by training, he has served as Treasurer and has acted as the firm’s general
counsel. In his career at Dahlen, Berg & Co., Mr. Larson has managed the firm’s
electricity trading operation, has represented municipalities in Minnesota and
Nebraska, and has worked with corporate clients, nationwide.
Before joining Dahlen, Berg & Co., Mr. Larson was for fifteen years a partner
in the law firm of Wurst, Pearson, Larson, Underwood & Mertz, where he specialized
in utility and municipal law. Prior to becoming a partner in his own firm,
Mr. Larson was for five years an associate at the predecessor LeFevere, Lefler firm.
Mr. Larson served the United States as an Air Force fighter pilot in Vietnam.
After leaving active duty, he flew in the Air National Guards of New York and
Iowa, and achieved the rank of Lt. Colonel.
A native of St. Peter, Minnesota, Mr. Larson earned his B.S. in Engineering
Sciences degree from the United States Air Force Academy. He earned his J.D.
degree, magna cum laude, from the William Mitchell College of Law.
